Applied Research for Conservation
Generate scientific information that advances current knowledge of sharks, rays and other fisheries, supports decision-making across sectors and strengthens medium- and long-term conservation and management actions.
Environmental Education, Community Development and Leadership
Contribute to environmentally and socially responsible societies through education and leadership, promoting the long-term conservation and sustainable use of marine-coastal resources, especially sharks, rays and the ecosystems they depend on in Guatemala, the Mesoamerican Reef region and the Eastern Pacific.
Public Awareness and Public Policy
Contribute to the conservation of fisheries resources in Guatemala, both Caribbean and Pacific, and in the Mesoamerican Reef region, mainly sharks, rays and chimaeras, by promoting public policies, stronger regulatory frameworks and public awareness.
