Félix Vega Quing lives in Barra Sarstún, on the Caribbean coast of Guatemala, surrounded by mangroves, ocean, and a community that for years searched for new ways to live in harmony with its environment. Today, thanks to Mundo Azul Foundation's Ki'il Sarstoon project and the sponsors who make it possible, Félix is a beekeeper. And what began as an uncertain leap of faith has grown into something far greater than anyone imagined.
"We got involved knowing almost nothing, and now we have made great progress. We see real achievements in our hive production."
What Félix and his group have built is not just a beekeeping operation, it is a chain of impact that connects every hive to the marine ecosystem surrounding their community. Bees pollinate the mangroves. Mangroves protect the coastline. The coastline sustains marine life. And marine life is the very reason Mundo Azul Foundation exists.
